The Writing Process

My résumé writing process is a collaborative effort between writer and client. I begin by assessing your current résumé and formulating an action plan for transforming it into a résumé that wins interviews. I discuss with you, in writing, exactly what I will do to make your résumé the high impact document that it should be.

The writing process starts with reformatting your résumé and developing a Summary Statement, bulleted list of strengths or areas of expertise and a Professional Competencies section. To do this, I prepare personalized leading questions that will assist you in providing important information for this section.

I then prepare and email to you as a file attachment a first draft of your résumé for your comments, markups and edits. Upon receipt of your input, I will revise the draft to reflect your input and suggested changes.

Our collaboration does not end until we are both satisfied that your résumé showcases your individual skills, accomplishments and qualifications and positions you as the ideal candidate for the job you are seeking.
